AND PRESORIBIN~ THE 5' NINIM~ WIDTH OF 0ENENT WALKS TO BE 00NSTRUOTED 6 THEREON, 7 The Board. of Tr~,stees of the City. of Bakersfield do ordain as " 8 follows- 9 Sec. 1. In this ordinance the phrase "curb-line" shall be 10 used and construed to mean a line in the street, avenue or lane. i~ or alley parallel with the property-line; 12 The phrase ~property-line" shall be used and construed to 13 mean a line between a street, avenue, lane or alley and the blocks, 14 squares or lines abutting upon such street, avenue, lane or alley; . 15 The phrase "sidewalk space" shall be used and construed to 16 mean the space between said property-line 'and curb~llne; 17 The phrase "parking space" shall be used and construed to !8 mean as much of the sidewalk space next to the °urb-line as the 19 Board of Trustees may in anywise determine. 20 The word "sidewalk" shall be used and construed to mean the 21 sidewalk of improvement cons~t~.~ing its surfaoe, or as much of the 22 sidewalk as the. Board of Trustees may specify. 23 The word "roadway" shall be used and construed to be so much 24 of the street, avenue, lane or alley as lies between the curb-lines 25 thereof. 26 Sec. ~.. On all streets or avenues 60 to ?0 feet wide, each 22 curb-~ine shall be ~ feet' from its adjacent property-line 28 ' ' : 29 ' ) 30 . (~.)
