Section 4, The City Clerk is hereby directed to procure
supplies that may be necessary to properly and lawfully conduct
said ele cti°n.
When the poles· are closed the .officers of the election s~ll
count the ballots cast at said election and canvass the votes cast
for the respective oa. ndidates,' and make return thereof to the
]~.oard of Trustees of said city in time; form and manner required
by law. ·
S. eotion 5.. This ordinance shall be published once a
for five dayw prior t'o. said election in the ~dcersfield Californian
and Morning Echo, daily newspapers printed 'and' published in the
City of Bskersfiel~, which said newspapers are hereby ~eclared to
· ' be' newspapers of general circulation; and this oxxltnanoe and such
publication thereof shall, be and is a notice of the. election.
Section 6. .This ordinance shall take effect from and after
'its passage.and 'approval and due publication as .required by law.
