AN OHDII~ANCE LEVYING L~PON T}~E ASSESSED VALUATION OF
T}~ TAXA2~LE PROPERTY IN THE CITY 0F BAKERSFIEI~ A RATE OF
TAXATION UPON EACH ONE HUIOJRED DOLLARS OF VALUATION FOR THE
FISCAL Y!~AR BEGI!~IN(~ JULY l, 1916 ;_~ ENDING JUNE 50, 1917.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
AS FOLLO%?S:
SECTION 1.-
That there is hereby levied a tax of eighty cents
($.80) on each Onel. Hundr~ I~olla~s($100.00) of the assessed valua-
tion upon all property, real, personal and mixed, in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, for municipal
purposes· to carry on the various departments of the Municip~l
Goverm~ent of said City during the fiscal year beginning with the
first day of July, 1918, and ending with the thirtieth day of ~une,
l~17.
SECTION 2.-
Theft there is hereby levied a tax of ten cents ($.10)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00~) of the. assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California., for interest and sinking fund on the 1912 Sewer
Bonds.
SECTIOE ~.-
That there is hereby levied a tax of seven cents
($.07) on e~ch One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valua-
tion of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, Sta~e of Csllfornia, for interest and slinking fund on the
1~12 City HaZel Bonds.
SECTION 4.-
That there is hereby levied a tam of three cents ($.09)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, for interest and sinking fund on the lgl2 Fire
Department Bonds.
SECTION ~.-
That there is hereby levied a tax of one cent ($.01)
on each One Hundred Dollars of the assessed valuation of all
tax~ble property within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, for interest ~nd sinking fund on the
Library Bonds.
SECTION 6.-
That there is hereby levied a tax of thirteen cents
($.lB) on es~ch One Hundred Dollars ~$100.00) of the assessed valua-
tion of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, Sts~te of California, for Free Library and Reading Rooms.
SECTION 7.-
That there is hereby levied~a tax of seven ce~ts
($.07) on e~ch One Hundred Doll~re ~$100.00) of the assessed~ v~lua-
tion of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, for maintenance and improve-
~ent of Parks and Playgrounds.
S~C~ION 8.-
That there is hereby levied a t~x of three cents
($.09) on e~ch One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed
v~!u~tion of all ta~ble property within that portion of the City

of Bakersfield formerly Kern, for the purpose of interest and
sinking fund. for the Kern Bonds.
SECTION ~.-
That there is hereby levied a tax of six cents
($.08) on e~ch One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed
valuation upon all taxable property within that portion of
the City of Bakersfield which wsls known and design~ted as the
City of Bakersfield prior to the consolidation of the said City
and the Town of Kern, for interest and Sinking fund orz ~s~ve~
Bond, Number One.
SECTION 10..-
That there is hereby levied a tax of three cents
($.03) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed
valuation upon taxable property in that portion Of the City of
Bakersfield which was known and designated as the City of Bakers-
field prior ~o~ the consolidation of the said City s~d the Town
of Kern, for interest and sinking fund on the old Bskersfield
Bonds.
~SECTION ll.-
That the'. Ci~y Clerk ~Certify to the p~ssage ~of this
Ordinance and cause the same to be published in ~ I~0RI~ING ECHO,
a daily newspaper published ~nd circulated in the City of Bakers-
field, and tha~ said 0rdins~nce shall be in full force and effect
from. and after its passage and publication.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was passed by
the Council of the City of Bakersfield a~ its regular meeting on
September 5th, 1916, by the following vote, to-wit:
