AN ORDINANCE LEVYING UPON Tt~E ASSESSED
VALUATION OF THE TkXABLE PROPERTY IN THE, CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, A RATE OF TAXATION UPON EACH ONE
HUNDRED DOLLARS OF VALUATION FOR Tt~E FISCAL YEAR
BEG~NNINGJJLY let, 1917, AND ENDING JUNE 30th,
BE IT OtlDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as
follows'
SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied a tax of eighty-two cents
($.82) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed
valuation o'f all taxable property in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, for municipal expenses
to carry on the several departments of the ~,~Gnicipal Government
of said City (excepting as hereinafter mentioned) during the
fiscal year beginni~ with the first day of July, 1917, and
ending with the thirtieth day of June, 1918.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby levied a tax of ten cents ($.10)
on each One H~ndred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, for interest and sinking fund on
the 1912 Sewer Bonds.
SECTION ~. That there is hereby levied a tax of seven cents ($.07)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, for interest and sinking fund on
the 1912 City Hall Bonds.
SECTION 4. That there is hereby levied a tax of three cents ($.0~)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, for interest and sinking, fund
on the 1912 Fire Department Bonds.
SECTION ~. That there is hereby levied a tax of one cent ($.01)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, for interest and sinking fund on
the 1912 Library Bonds.
SECTION 6. That there is hereby levied a tax of fourteen cents
($.14) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield,
[bUnty of Kern, State of California, for Free Library and Reading
Rooms.
SECTION 7. That there is hereby levied a tax of five cents ($.0~)
on each One Handred Dollars ($100.00) of the asse'ssed valuation'
of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, Coanty
of Kern, State of California, for maintenance and improvement of
· Parks 'and Playgrounds.
SECTION 8. That there is hereby levied a tax of two cents ($.0.2)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
-of all taxable property within that portion of the City of
Bakersfield, formerly Kern, for the purpose of interest and
sinking f~d for the Kern Bonds.
SECTION 9. That there is hereby levied a tax of six cents ($.06)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within that portion of the City of
Bakersfield which was known and designated as the City of
Bakersfield, prior to the consolidation of said City and the
Town of Kelm, for interest and sinking fund on Sewer Bond Number
One.
SECTION 10. That there is hereby levied a tax of two cents ($.02)
on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property in that portion of the City of Bakersfield
which was known and designated as the City of Bakersfield, prior

to the consolidation of said City and the Town of Kern, for
interest and sinking fund on the old Bakersfield Bonds.
SECTION ll. That the City Clerk certify the passage of this 0rdi-
nance and cause the same to be published in THE MORNING ECHO,
a dail y . newspaper published and circulated in the City of
Bakersfield, and that said Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at its regular meeting
on September 4th, 1917, by the following vote:
