AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING OWNERS,
OPERATORS AND DRIVERS OF AUTOMOBILE STAGES
AND RENT CARS, THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. AGENTS
AND EMPLOYEES FROM SOLICITING FOR PATRONAGE
'~ ON STREETS IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, AND
~' PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows'
SECTION 1~. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation,
their representatives, agents or employees, or any person on their
behalf, owning, operating, driving or using automobiles for hire,
or carrying on, .maintaining or conducting any business under or by
authority of an automobile stage license, or an automobile rent car
license, to solicit for patronage or customers, in or upon any
street within the City of Bakersfield.
SECTION 2. For the purpose of this Ordinance, the word "street" shall
be deemed to include avenues, courts, lanes, alleys, sidewalks,
pathways, or other public places..
SECTION 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be. d,semed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine not. exceeding Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not
exceeding Ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
