AND FROM THE i~,ASTERLY LINE OF "L" STREET TO THE WESTERLY LINE OF "P" STREET, A PUBLIC NOULEVARD AND REGULATING THE USE OF A~ TRAFFIC THEREON: i~2EALING ORDINANCE NO. 254, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR T~E VIOLATION HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF T~HE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as' follows' SECTION 1. That Truxtun Avenue, as the same is designated upon the offi- cial map of the City of Bakersfield, filed for record in the of'fice of the County Recorder on the 25th day of November, 1898, be and. the same i s hereby declared to be a public Boulevard from the westerly line of "A" Street to the westerly line of "H" Street, and from the easterly line of "L" Street to the'westerly line of "P" Street, along or upon which no r~ilro~d or street rai, lway franchise shall ever be granted, and upon and along which no railroad or street railway tracks shall ever he laid. SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive~ any truck, dray, wagon, oil wagon, cart or other vehicle regularly employed in carrying goods or merchandise, or any wagon or vehicle carrying coal, manure, l~nber, brick, or other building material, sand, earth, gravel, hay, ~rain, oil, crude petroleum, garden tr~ck or farm produce along or upon said Tr~xtun Boulevard; provided, however, that this Ordinance shall not apply to the use of said boulevard for a distance of not more than one block by vehicles carrying goods, merchandise or mater- ial to or from premises situated on said boulevard or streets adjacent ~-~ thereto, n~dr tO- the uses of sprinkling tanks thereon. Provided furth~ that it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any loose livestock over said boulevard. SECTION ~. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof sh~ll be' subject to a fine of not~~an Three Hundred' Dollars ($300.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. Ordinance No. 2%4 of the City of Bakersfield, and all 0rdi- nances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby re- .pealed.
