ordinance providing for the installation of grease tra~a in
certain buildings and Dlacem within the City of B~ersfield;

~CTION ~. Every building, or a~ portion of a building,
used a~ a public garage, auto.bile repair eho~, butcher ~op
or public lmundry within the City of B~ersfield, shall ~ve
in,tailed therein a grease trap to conform wi~h the plan for
greaee tra,pe on file tn the office of the Pl~bing Inspector,
which said plan is known and designated as "Plan of Grease Trap
in the City of B~ersfield", adopted by the Counoil of the City
of B~ersfield at a meeting of ss. id Council, held on the 20th
day of January, 1919, Provided, however, thaZ when .said grease
traps are in~talled in any ~u~cher ~hop or public laundry the
oover of e~e ahall be constructed of steel.
~C~IoN E. GreaBe Traps shall be installed in bu~ldings and
place~ other than ~hoae designated herein, whenever She Health
Department or the Pl~bing Inspector ~h~ll deem s~e necessary,
ae-a preservation of public health and sanitation.
~C~ION ~. All greame traps installed under the provisions
of ~his ordinance e~ll be subject to the a~proval of the Health
Department ~d Pl~bing Inspector, and shall be of fir. st-clmBm
wor~nshi:p and ~terial, ~nd under no consideration
size of same be less than that specified in the plan therefor
adopted and on file.
EECTIOi~ 4. Any person, firm or corporation failing to
perform any duty prescribed herein, or violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by
a fine' in the sum not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00)
or by imprisonment in the County ~ail for a period not exceeding
ninety (90) days, or By both such fine and imprisonment.

passed by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on th® 27th
day of January, 1919, by the following vote:
