No Plmnber shall do any plumber's work in any build~ lng or addition hereafter erected or moved in said City until il he bas first received a permit so to, do. To obtain said permit plans and, spec,ificatio, ns correctly describing in detail work to x a be done saall ce filed in the Health Office of said City, ,and a fee of three ($S. 00) dollars be paid to the Inspector of Plmab- , ~s lng a,nd Drainage for cost of exmnination of plans and specifi- .. cations and the completed work which shall be retained by ;aim ~4 as fees and in i~ll compens?&ion for his services rendered. .... Ail iron, soil bi~ waste pipes; ered up, must have all openings stopped and be filled with water ~e and allowe~ to stand until inspected and approved. All con- " nections of lead with iron pipe must be made with a brass for- ~.7 rule of the same size as the lead pipe and calked into the iron pipe .and cormected to the bad pipe by a wiped joint. Ail con- ~s nections of lead pip'e must be of wiped joints. Section. 10. Every water closet, sink, basin, bath or set of wash trays, or other vessels connected with the dra~y~ piP~',- must be separately and effectively trapped. All leaders, soil waste, air, and drain pipes in- side of buildings, before being covered up, must have all ~-4 e~ings stepped up and be filled with water. The said test must be made in the presence of the I-nspeetor of Plumbing and ~'5 Drainage. and if satisfactoryj he shall" issue a proper'"'cert-i~fi~t , cate.~'~$tiee .must be given~o the Inspector when. the work is ~-s sufficiently advanced for inspection. ~.7 Section. 17. Section. 18. .No opening shall be provided in the sewer pipe. of any o,]lld~ng for the purpose of receiving the surface drain- age of the cellar unless special permission be granted; ,and any openi.~ so made must be immediately and permanently 'closed when directed by the Board of Health. ,~ection. 19. Every water ~closet basin, urinal, wash basin .an~ every f~cet having a waste pipe shall be separated, and ~ndepen~ently trapped with m water sealing trap placed as near the fixture as practicable and each and every trap shall be protected from s~phonage and air pressure by a special air or ve,.t vent pipe of a s~ze not~ less than the .waste pipe up to and in- eluding two i~ches, over two inches and not exceeding fou~ in- ches, not less than two inch vents shall be use~. Vent pipes shell be ~,~n straight and direct as possible and with a gra~e to avoid trapping or condensation and the termination of all vents shall be five feet from all flues, waste tar~ks, air shafts and windows, and in no case shall ter- minate et a lower distance. Section 21. .~hen a building is moved from on? part of the City to another, er when an a~dition is made to a buxlding or when any new plumbing is done kn an old building, (except in cases of'. repairs, and repairs are defined to consist of leaks in drain, soil, waste an~ vent pipes and repairs on faucets, valves and water supply pipes), theplumbing rules and regulations a.dopted by the Board of Health must be follQwed. · Section 22, All vents from water closets ~aust be extended at lee. st two (2) feet above the main plate or fire wall 'of all buildings~, · -S'e'~tion '?~.
