The 'Board of Trustees .of the City of Bakersfield do ordain
as follows:
i' SECTION 1.
The Board of Trusteess of. the City of Bakersfield hereby

party, a railroad corporation duly organized and incorporated
as such under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Cali-
fornia, and having its office and principal pl~,.ce of business
in the City and County of San Fra~.cisco, State of California,
its successors and assigns, so far as it lies within the power
~ of said Boa.rd. of Trustees to grant the same, for the term of
, ~ fifty (50) years from the twenty sixth day of ]~ebruary, A. D.
189§, subject to all the terms, conditions and limitations here.

standard broad-gauge width, and to lay down and maintain there-
on a track or tracks of standard width, together with all
necessary curves, side-track~s, spurs and switches for the. con-
venient use thereof, and to run locomotives and cars thereon
and there'over; which said streets and portions of streets and
other places in the said City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,

on the west line of 0 st~'eet thirty-two and one quarter feet
south from the center line of Fifteenth street; running thence
westerly parallel to and .thirty-two and one quarter feet south
from the said center line of Fifteenth street, a distance of
twenty-seven hundred~twenty-two and one-half feet, more or
less, and across 3?, M, v. and K streets, Chester avenue, I and
H streets, to the east line of G street; together with the right
to lay and maintain all switches, slip switches, crossings, sid-
ings, crossing tracks and connecting tracks on and between the
aforesaid track and the existing tracks of the said Railway

Ail streets, roads, alleys, blocks, lots and tracts herein
referred to are as designated on the official map of said City
of Bakersfield approved by the Board of Trustees of the said
City of Bakersfield November 21st, 1898, and filed in the
face of the County Recorder of Kern County, State of California,
November 25th, 1898.
~CTION 2.
The rights, privileges and permission herein granted to
said corporation are dependent for their continuance and
v___~lidity upon the performance by said corporation of all the
conditions as hereinafter set forth, to-wit:
1. Said corporation shall construct suit~.ble culverts
for the passage of water at such points on said road-bed as
shall be selected by the said Board of Trustees, and shall keep
