AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE ESCAPES FOR BUILDINGS OF THREE
OR MORE STORIES IN HEIGHT.
· The Board of Trustees of the City 'of Bakersfield do ordain
as follows:-
SECTION. 1.- It shall be unlawfull to ar. ect..sr, malntai~
any .building, whether built of wood, brick, stone or iron,
of three or more stories in height, in the City of Bakers-
fiemd, unless the same is provided with such fire escapes as
s~hall be a.p~y the 0hief of the Fire Department~
SECTION 2.- Any person violating any provision of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of '~ misdemeanor and shall,
iff the case of each and every oonviotion of the same, be
quired to pay a fine of not less than one hundred dollars
and not more than three izundred doll,.rs, or in the event of
failing to pa~ the same, to be imprisoned in the County Jail
not exceeding ninety days.
- SECTION 3.- This ordinance shall go .into fttll force and
effect on and after its passage and publication as required
by law.
