SECTION 1.- The ra~es to be ch~ged and oolleoted by any per,om,
company, a~soclstlon or corporation supplying the City of
Bakersfield, or the inhabiters thereof with water, ~d for
w~ter f~nlshed to said city or tl~e inhabiters thereof,
~e hereB~ fixed for the fiscal ye~ comencing July 1st,
1905, and ending June gOth, 1906, 88 follows:

41.-- Ail railroads, distilleries, breweries, elevators,
machine shops, manufactories, street sprinkling wagons, an~'
all consumers not mentioned above, requl~ing large quantities
of water, shall be-governed by the following meter rates,viz:

42.-- All rates except metre rates are due and payable
in advance, and metre rates are due and payable at the end

SECTION ~.-

1.-- ~o person, except a fireman in the discharge of
his duty, shall without a written permit from the compa~.~y,
open or in any way tsmper with any fire hydrant, stop-cock
or,lair-cock connected with the mains of said companies or
persons.
2.-- I~mediately upon an alsrm of fire, all ~ersons us-
ing water for sprinkling or irrigating pttrposes must close

of the use of the water by the fire department.
SECTION 3.- This ordinance fixes the maximum beyond which
any person, company, association or corporation shall not be
permitted to charge or collect for water supplied.
SECTION 4.- This ordinance shall tak. e effect and be in full
force and effect on the let day of July, A.D., 1905,
main in full force until and including the SOth dam of June,
A.D., 1~06, and before going into effect shall be published
once in the paper under contract with-the City to do the pub-
lic printing.
