HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO RA001-09RESOLUTION NO. ~A ~ ~ ~ - O 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TAX- DEFAULTED PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE SOUTHEAST BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA. WHEREAS, the County of Kern Treasurer and Tax Collector ("KCTTC") notified the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency ("Agency") that it will offer for sale at public auction to the highest bidder certain tax-defaulted properties located within the Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Project Area; and WHEREAS, prior to the date that KCTTC published the first notice of the proposed sale of those properties, the Agency notified KCTTC that it desired to purchase five (5) of the tax-defaulted properties for redevelopment purposes; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section 3791.3, the Agency, may purchase tax-defaulted properties by submitting a resolution authorizing the sale and an executed purchase agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agency desires to purchase five (5) properties which have been slated for sale to benefit low- and moderate-income persons of the Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Project Area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency as follows: 1. That the above recitals are true and correct. 2. That the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency authorizes the purchase of the following tax-defaulted property from the County of Kern: Assessor's Parcel No. 009-450-20 - 409 N Street Assessor's Parcel No. 019-042-06 - 822 Collins Way Assessor's Parcel No. 019-152-06 - 907 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd Assessor's Parcel No. 019-181-11 - 305 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Assessor's Parcel No. 139-421-06 - 132 Milham Drive 3. That the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency authorizes the requisite Agency officials to execute the purchase agreement. A form of the County's purchase agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". 4.
